A key theme of my Disaster Capitalism film and book is the ongoing economic, political and social crisis in Haiti.
Hillary and Bill Clinton, along with their Clinton Foundation, bear deep responsibility for these problems, an issue I examine in both the film and book.
The Guardian Long Read just published a fine report by the journalist Jacob Kushner and it’s worth reading in full. I’m thankful that my work on the matter is mentioned:
“The neoliberal, exploitative economic model currently being imposed” on Haiti “has failed many times before,” Antony Loewenstein, author of Disaster Capitalism: Making a Killing Out of Catastrophe, has written. The result, he adds, is that many Haitians are living “in a state of despair and daily desperation”.
