Republican presidential Ron Paul has attracted massive amounts of support across the American political divide, including the Left, principally due to his anti-war stance. This may be understandable, but many of his positions are fundamentally backward and reactionary (all explained here.)
But Paul’s position on Israel is perhaps the most clear-headed of all the major presidential candidates. He believes that aid to the Jewish state should be abandoned. Indeed, he believes that all foreign aid should be dropped. Paul on Israel:
“I believe in the sovereignty of Israel.”
It’s not surprising that many Zionists are petrified that such a debate is even occurring because Israel would probably cease to exist without Washington’s largesse. But it’s a debate that’s long overdue.
