The latest on the Douglas Wood saga is succinctly explained by Phil Gomes. Despite initial rhetoric suggesting the kindly Australian was in Iraq helping Iraqis, it appears he was actually assisting the US occupation.
Over to Gomes:
“A simple entrepreneurial businessman he was not. Douglas Wood has been bought, lock stock and smoking barrel, by a militarised American dream. He is a true believer and acts accordingly.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Things are so desperate for the pro-war crowd, they’re forced to praise a bloke who clearly cares little for an occupied country or its people. His mantra? “Get some jobs, execute them and make money.”
A hero, indeed.
